liquid limestone
What is Lifestone's Liquid Limestone?
Lifestone's Liquid Limestone is made from a mixture of crushed limestone and high quality concrete materials. The paving is poured en masse in it's liquid form and then hand crafted to the client's desires. The resulting paving is extremely durable ensuring it looks as good as it did the day it was laid in many years to come. Tints can be added to the mix to create a wide range of colours and hues - from sandstone to terracotta and everything in between - to match your home decor.
What are the Benefits of Lifestone's Liquid Limestone?
- NO MORE pavers that have moved or subsided over time
- NO MORE worrying about troublesome weeds or burrowing ants in in your paving
- NO MORE hot feet due to paving bricks or concrete that has heated up under the sun. The natural properties of limestone keep the Lifestone paving far cooler in the sun making it ideal for pool areas...the kids love this!
What Patterns and Finishes are available?
We have a range of popular patterns and finishes available, if we don't have what you desire speak to us and if it's possible, we'll do it...
Patterns:
- "Casual" - our most popular the "Casual" design is a random mix of square and rectangle shapes.
- "Diamond" - a pattern made up of diamonds approximately 900mm wide.
- "Formal" - a double line that forms large squares and borders on the edge.
Finishes:
- "Heritage" - An open groove line that is approximately 15mm wide. A popular choice with lots of character and appeal.
- "Contemporary" - This is what is known as a dry cut line where we cut the lines into the paving after it has cured. The lines are approximately 3mm wide making them ideal for easy cleaning and giving the paving a modern and professional impression.
- "Federation" - The "Federation" begins as a Heritage open groove line that is grouted with a mortar grout. This gives it a Mediterranean Tuscan appeal.
- "Modern" - "Modern" is a premium finish where we grind the cured Lifestone Paving to a smooth granite like finish. This is ideal for indoor patios or entertaining areas.
- "Axed" - The "Axed" finish is our most unique finish where the lines and edges have the impression of being cut and marked with an axe. The "Axed" finish has it's own personality and always draws the eye. It's grabs the attention of guests and is a real talking point at parties.
How to get the best out of your Lifestone Paving:
Use a Sealer
A sealer helps protect the limestone and works as a stain proofing. The sealant Lifestone uses is UV stabilised, contains anti-fungal properties and provides strong resistance to abrasion, water, chemicals, detergents, alkalis, oils and grease. It also provides protection against the ingress of waterborne and airborne contaminants, providing protection against bore stain damage and swimming pool water.
Give it a Wash
Lifestone recommends giving your Lifestone Paving a wash at least once a year. We recommend you should do this after winter with a pressure cleaner.
Beware of garden mulch
Garden mulch when left in quantities on the paving under the sun can heat up to an extent that it actually burns the surface of the limestone.
How we install your Lifestone Paving
The area to be paved is prepared to a depth of 75-100mm and depending on the soil type a crushed limestone base may also be required. Rules and reinforcing mesh (where required) are placed and levelled. We then mix the Lifestone Paving and pour it in its liquid form much like you do with common concrete. As it cures we handcraft the textures and patterns into the Lifestone. Please view the link below which shows one of our teams in action.
